Within the PACCAR Parts logistics process, there was a need for a solution that would allow medium-weight products to be picked faster, more flexibly, and with less physical strain. In cooperation with Crown Intern Transport, Habeload developed a modular lifting system for this purpose, fully integrated into a Crown order picker.
In logistics processes, thousands of products are collected, moved, and processed every day. When it comes to medium-weight products such as wheels and rims, this can lead to physical strain for employees and limitations in the order-picking process.
PACCAR Parts also faced the question of how medium-weight products could be picked faster, more flexibly, and with less physical strain.
The existing process was functioning well, but PACCAR Parts wanted to explore how the order-picking process could be further improved.
The main focus areas were:
To arrive at a suitable solution, a joint project team was formed with PACCAR Parts, Crown Intern Transport, and Habeload.
Based on the functional requirements, a modular lifting system was developed and fully integrated into a Crown GPC 3000 order picker.
Throughout the process, the solution was further optimized based on practical experience and the evaluation of an initial test setup. This resulted in a system that seamlessly integrated with the employees' daily tasks.
In logistics processes, safety always comes first.
Therefore, the lifting system was linked to the order picker's controls, so that both systems function as one integrated solution. This allowed for an optimal combination of ease of use, safety, and efficiency.
The integrated solution helps PACCAR Parts ergonomically collect medium-weight products.
The benefits:
In this way, the solution contributes not only to employee well-being but also to a smarter order picking process.
