The future of glass processing: what stood out at Glasstec 2026?

October 22, 2026

As the official BPM partner for the Netherlands, we at Habeload visited the fair to see the current trends and innovations in glass handling and ergonomic product processing. The visit confirmed a development we are seeing more and more in the Netherlands: glass products are becoming larger, heavier, and more complex, while companies are simultaneously dealing with staff shortages and increasing demands regarding safety and product quality.

Working smarter and safer is becoming increasingly important

Where handling was once purely a logistical issue, there is now much more at play. Producers are looking for solutions that not only increase productivity but also contribute to ergonomics, safety, and more efficient use of personnel. At the same time, operators must handle increasingly large and heavy glass products without compromising quality or workplace comfort.

The challenge is clear:

How can production processes continue to run efficiently when products are getting larger and qualified personnel are becoming harder to find?

One of the highlights: the new Forceful Mini

During the fair, BPM presented, among other things, the new Forceful Mini. This compact manipulator is equipped with an innovative vacuum gripper that can be easily adjusted to different glass sizes.

This creates a flexible solution that allows a wide range of glass products to be processed safely and efficiently without lengthy changeovers. According to BPM, this combination of flexibility, ease of use, and ergonomics is a major step forward for glass processing companies looking to further optimize their processes.

Technology alone is not enough

What struck us most during Glasstec is that innovations are increasingly focused on supporting the operator. The focus is not just on the machine or manipulator, but primarily on how people work with them on a daily basis.

This aligns well with BPM's vision. Their solutions stand out due to a combination of innovation, user-friendliness, and customization. Systems are tailored to specific production processes and customer requirements so that they fit as seamlessly as possible into daily practice.

Why Habeload partners with BPM

For Dutch companies, a successful investment does not end with the purchase of a system.

As an official BPM partner, Habeload supports customers throughout the entire process: from advice and project engineering to installation, training, and service. In doing so, we look not only at the technology but primarily at the application on the shop floor.

According to BPM, that is the strength of working with a local partner. Short lines of communication, support in your own language, and fast service ensure that customers have a single point of contact throughout the entire process.

From the trade show floor to the workplace

A trade show like Glasstec shows which developments will be important for the sector in the coming years. For us, it confirmed that ergonomics, safety, and flexibility are playing an increasingly important role in glass processing.

The future of glass processing is not just about more powerful machines, but above all about smarter management of people, processes, and products.
