Safely moving sheet material is a daily challenge for many manufacturing companies. Large surface areas, heavy weights, and fragile materials require reliable handling solutions that are not only safe but also flexible and future-proof. At the same time, the demands on vacuum technology are increasing. Companies want to work more efficiently, save energy, and be able to adapt systems more easily to new products or process changes. To address these challenges, Habeload and Succor jointly developed the Vacusystem: a modular vacuum solution for safely and efficiently lifting sheet material.
Many vacuum lifters operate with a single central vacuum supply that provides vacuum to all suction cups.
Although this technology has proven itself in practice, challenges sometimes arise when:
This led to the question:
The answer to that question formed the basis for the development of Vacusystem.
During the development of Vacusystem, we looked at how an octopus's suckers work together. Instead of one central vacuum supply, the system uses multiple decentralized electric vacuum generators, also known as Vacupods . Each Vacupod generates vacuum locally and works in tandem with the other modules within the system. This creates a flexible and modular vacuum gripper that can be easily adapted to different applications.
A key advantage of Vacusystem is its built-in redundancy.
Because multiple Vacupods work together, it provides extra security when lifting and moving products.
This increases the operational reliability of the system.
In traditional systems, vacuum is often generated centrally.
Vacusystem uses locally generated vacuum, ensuring energy is only used where it is actually needed.
This contributes to more efficient energy consumption.
The Vacupods generate extensive sensor data.
This information is presented to operators via a user-friendly interface, keeping users better informed about the system's status.
A key difference from many traditional systems is the modular design.
Vacupods can be added or linked, making the system easy to adapt to:
This makes Vacusystem exceptionally flexible within modern production environments.
A modular vacuum solution can be beneficial when organizations work with:
Especially when safety, flexibility, and energy consumption are key criteria, a modular approach can offer advantages over traditional systems.
Vacusystem was developed by Habeload and Succor.
The development of the system was made possible in part by support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Northern Netherlands Alliance (SNN).
Handling sheet material safely and efficiently requires innovative solutions.
With Vacusystem, Habeload and Succor have developed a modular vacuum solution focused on safety, flexibility, energy efficiency, and ease of use.
This creates a system that can easily adapt to changing production processes and diverse handling applications
